About the plan
The City of Tangent is updating its Transportation System Plan (TSP). This long-range plan is intended to make getting around Tangent easier and safer. The plan looks at Tangent’s roads, bridges, sidewalks and pathways and figures out what is needed now and in the future to make things work better. The TSP will:
- Include the needs and desires of residents and businesses.
- Develop a plan for modern, safe, and comfortable roadways, sidewalks, bikeways and transit facilities that accommodate users of all ages, incomes, and abilities.
- Identify projects to address gaps and improve connections between key destinations such as schools, shopping centers, parks, and employment centers.

Phase 1 Public Involvement Summary
During the first phase of public engagement from March to June of 2025, the City collected valuable feedback from the public. Tangent is a relatively small community, so the team emphasized gathering quality feedback from as many people as possible using simple and effective strategies: an interactive website including a survey and comment map, meetings with stakeholders, a public open house held at the Tangent Fire Station, and various modes of digital survey promotion. The most effective strategies thus far in reaching people have been emails and social media posts.
Engagement Key Findings
Participants shared their transportation experiences and needs through the project website, stakeholder meetings, and conversations with project staff at one public event. A few important locations and takeaways, which should guide the TSP plan, came up in many of these interactions. For a full summary of the engagement findings, see the Phase 1 Engagement Summary document.
